These cartridges contain inert, non-corrosive, and non-toxic silica gel that is useful anywhere desiccation is needed. The VWR Reusable Silica Gel Desiccant Cartridges fit "Space Saver" desiccators, as well as other plastic desiccators of similar size. The clear polypropylene dish allows for instant visual inspection of the silica gel, which changes from blue to pale pink as it absorbs moisture. A highly porous mesh membrane covers the dish, providing excellent moisture absorption. The desiccant can be easily regenerated by heating the cartridges in a 50°C (122°F) oven overnight or at 100°C (212°F) for six hours. For more rapid drying, remove the membrane lid, transfer the spent gel crystals into a glass or porcelain dish, and place it in a 150°C (300°F) oven for one hour. Each cartridge is individually foil sealed and contains 40g of desiccant. The product code is 76538-672.
