This device measures the speed and acceleration of objects by producing up to 50-60 dots per second on a ticker tape. The transit time is calculated by counting the number of dots in a measured length of tape. It comes with a 50-meter roll of 15mm wide ticker tape, 100 carbon disks, and instructions. A 12VAC power supply is required but not included. This timer is an easy way to analyze object motion in physics classrooms. Simply thread the tape through the device and secure it to the object being studied. As the object moves, the tape passes through the device, leaving a trail of dots at regular time intervals. The device features a durable molded plastic case with a tape guide and movable carbon disk plug to maximize disc usage, as well as a 1.25" mounting bracket attached to the bottom. Its compact size measures 4.5"L x 3"W x 1.5"H.
