Clear quartz glass crucibles are useful for analytical applications that require the ashing of samples and procedures that necessitate high temperatures. The quartz material offers low thermal expansion, dimensional stability, and resistance to thermal shock. It can withstand a continuous operating temperature of 1050°C (1922°F). Lids, also manufactured from quartz, are sold separately.
