The test exploits the sensitivity of vibrios to the vibrio static agent 0129 (2,4-Diamino-6,7-di-iso-propylpteridine phosphate)1. 0129 Discs are of great value in differentiating vibrios from other Gram-negative rods and particularly from aeromonads, which are characteristically resistant to 0129.
