Details
Demonstrate the magnetic effects of a current-carrying wire near a magnet. A current-carrying wire creates a magnetic field around it, causing an interaction when placed near a permanent magnet. The magnetic needle is balanced in the middle of the rectangular metal frame. The binding posts are set up so that you can place a current either on the bottom part of the frame or around the entire frame. By changing the direction of the current, you can observe how the motion of the magnetic needle changes. This device works with low voltages from 1.5 V to 3 V DC. Dimensions: 3" x 6" x 7".
