This electroscope provides hands-on experience with electrostatic principles in physics classrooms and labs. The sheet metal walls are attached to a plastic base and top. A front glass window slides up to allow insertion of ionizing material into the chamber. A lightweight metal vane serves as a pointer in the electroscope, deflecting when the plate is charged. A graduated scale is provided to measure the angle of deflection. Fitted with a 4mm socket, the assembled electroscope measures 4 x 3.75 x 2.25 inches.
