Details
Here is the corrected text: Set of 12 Raw Galena Specimens, 1" Each Galena grows in beautiful metallic cubes. Often refined as a lead ore, galena can also be used to teach students about a mineral's luster, streak, and cleavage. Due to the lead in its chemical formula, it is much denser than other minerals, making it seem unnaturally heavy for its size. Ideal for teaching students about rounding and sorting, as well as for identification and classification exercises, galena's reflective cubic crystals are an excellent example of metallic luster. While each specimen will vary slightly in shape, size, and color, it will measure approximately 1" in length. Each is individually packaged, labeled, and barcoded for easy identification and storage. Selected and processed by a geologist, each and every specimen is hand-picked to ensure that each sample exhibits defining features. Our minerals are sourced from a variety of locations around the world and are hand-processed in Victor, NY. Always feel free to reach out to our team of scientists and geologists for additional information or to assist you with any questions regarding our rock and mineral samples.
