VWR® Eosin Y 1% Alcoholic is a cytoplasmic stain that provides excellent definition of cell components in shades of red and pink when used in the hematoxylin and eosin staining procedure. It offers great contrast to the purple nuclei stained with hematoxylin, making it an excellent cytoplasmic stain. Intensified Eosin and Eosin-Phloxine have been formulated to provide increased definition of cytoplasmic components. These innovative modified eosin counterstains can be substituted for Eosin Y 1% Alcoholic in the staining procedure, with timing varied to achieve the desired staining intensity.
