Details
This foliated metamorphic rock typically forms at convergent plate boundaries, where it recrystallizes under immense heat and pressure. It's an excellent teaching tool for students learning about differential stresses and foliation in metamorphic rocks. Each of the 12 specimens in this set will vary slightly in shape, size, and color, but they will measure approximately 1 inch in length. Every specimen is individually packaged, labeled, and barcoded for easy identification and storage. A geologist hand-selects and processes each sample to ensure that it exhibits defining features. Our rocks and minerals are sourced from a variety of locations worldwide and are processed by hand in Victor, NY. If you have any questions or need additional information about our rock and mineral samples, feel free to reach out to our team of scientists and geologists for technical support.
