The androgen receptor (ar) is a nuclear hormone receptor that regulates gene expression in response to androgens such as testosterone & dihydrotestosterone. The ar luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of this receptor. The vector contains an ar dna consensus binding site & ta minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report ar activity .
